Coursera

Coursera offers online courses, assessments, certificates, and learning programs from universities and industry partners. AI-powered Coach supports learning in courses where it is available.

✨ Learning Workflow

Explore a subject, preview the first module, and compare the course syllabus and credential requirements before enrolling. Course videos, assessments, and Coach availability depend on the course.

💳 Pricing and Access

Coursera announced on August 8, 2025 that free first-module previews replace its audit experience for most courses. Full access and certificates generally require payment. Selected community-impact courses remain free; eligible learners can apply for financial aid. Prices vary by course, program, region, and subscription. Coursera Plus covers eligible courses and programs, rather than every offering.

⚖️ Alternatives

edX offers institution-led courses, certificates, and degrees. Udemy offers instructor-led skills courses. Compare the curriculum and credential you actually need.

🎯 Use Cases

Study AI or data science, test a course before paying, or build skills toward a professional certificate. A free preview does not grant a completed-course certificate.
