Duolingo Max

Duolingo Max is a paid subscription tier for language learning. Its AI conversation experiences include Roleplay and Video Call in supported courses, devices and markets. Availability depends on the account and current rollout.

Pricing and free learning

Max is distinct from Duolingo's free base lessons. Explain My Answer is now available free to most learners in supported courses, so grammar explanations should not be presented as a Max-only paid feature. Max subscription prices vary by country and purchase platform; use the in-app offer for the final price.

Use cases

Practice conversations in simulated scenarios and interact with an AI character in supported video-call exercises. Review the language and device requirements before buying.
