Jitsi Meet is an open-source video-conferencing solution for browser and mobile meetings. The public meet.jit.si service is free, but meeting creators must authenticate. Invited participants can join without creating an account. Communication is encrypted by default. Hosts can create a custom meeting URL, invite participants, share a screen or presentation, chat, exchange emojis, collaborate in Etherpad, and choose between using the public service or running their own instance.

The public service and self-hosted software have different operational limits and responsibilities. Participant capacity, recording, moderation, and deployment terms depend on the service or instance; verify the selected deployment before a production meeting.
